Mrs. Tunzi-Brown Atwater High School Physical Education Classroom Procedures
Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
Welcome to Atwater High School and Physical Education for the 2014-2015 school year. My name is Mrs. Tunzi-Brown and I would like you to understand how much I look forward to teaching our students and working with you. We have many new and exciting activities, sports, and information for our students to learn and share with you at home. I know we have great expectations for our student. By working together we can achieve these expectations to facilitate a positive, successful, and healthy lifestyle. If you have any questions, you may contact me at mtunzi[email protected] or (209) 357-6020. I appreciate your assistance in the education of our students and look forward to meeting you at “Back to School Night,” September 26, 2014, 6:00p.m.

1. Responsibility = be prepared, on time and in your squads before role call. Please drink water and
use the restroom before or after class. You may bring a plastic bottle of water to class.
2. Education = knowledge of leading a healthy active lifestyle through fitness, activities, sports,
nutrition, weight training, cardio, et cetera.
3. Sportsmanship = to follow all the procedures of class and school.
4. Participation = to work 100% of the time.
5. Excellence = to be the best of your ability each day.
6. Cooperation = assisting the education of classmates by being respectful and helpful to all.
7. Teamwork = working together for a common goal.
Cardio Assessment and Class Make-up Procedures
Make-ups are important and are the students' responsibility to complete. Student's Cardio
Assessment is a significant portion of their grade and is measured regularly on Thursday. If students
do not do well on their cardio assessment due to illness, et cetera they have the opportunity to attend
make-ups to improve their grade. Even with a written doctor's excuse, students will need to make-
up their cardio assessment when healthy. For Cardio and Class Make-ups our students can attend
my early class at 6:40 a.m. held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. If our students are not
able to attend the early morning class then he or she will have to make arrangements with me.
Students should not wait until the end of the quarter. The Cardio Assessment values range from 5 to
30 points and the Fitness Folder has a possible value of 40 points, total score for the Cardio day if
completed correctly is 70 points. Regular Class points vary according to the activities and
assignments.
I understand and agree to above procedures:
