I am only one, but still, I am one. I cannot do everything but I can do something. And, because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do what I can. Edward Everett Hale
Cooperative Learning
Cooperative learning requires students to work in teams to accomplish a task and, at the same time, each student has individual responsibilities, which contribute to the success of the team. When used appropriately, cooperative learning encourages the development of communication and interpersonal skills, as well as knowledge in a defined content area. Used well, cooperative learning allows students to acquire both knowledge and social skills. Students are motivated to learn from one another and must depend on one another to accomplish a task. This strategy can be used most effectively with children in middle elementary through high school grades.
